Biography
Angela Chiti was born in Serravalle Pistoiese (PT), but the family moved very soon to Sesto Fiorentino, where Angela still lives and works.
After completing linguistic studies, at a very young age, she traveled alone in Italy and Europe, with the aim of enriching herself from this travel experience, from assiduous visits to museums and places of art and from the plurality of meetings with people and communities.
Upon returning from these journeys, she tries her hand at various types of jobs in order to support her studies. Still very young, she met a musician with whom she married and with whom she had two children.
After a few years, the need to express herself through an artistic form materializes in the discovery of photography. He enrolled and graduated from Luciano Ricci’s F64 International School of Photography. Meeting with him would prove to be of great importance for the artistic partnership that was established.
Later she left her city life to live a truly new experience: living in the countryside and in particular taking care of a wood together with his new partner.
Having returned to live in Sesto Fiorentino, she resumed her artistic activity and the trilogy was born: With Eyes Closed, State of Suspension, Listener, with the related published books. They are works of poetic and evocative references, triumph of color, almost never faced before, juxtaposition of the poetic word to the portrayed image.
The works Synthesis and Transitions then follow, taken from images in a very accentuated Black/White, without half tones, where the photos appear to be very essential and minimalist.
She continues, trusting in the instant, her personal photographic and poetic research; the tackling of the theme of sculpture, interpreted in a completely singular way, was born with the work Stone Breathing.
The most recent work, Veritas rei (Matter) testifies to a peculiar observation of Matter in its many facets.
